The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 48 square feet. Its length is 44 feet longer than twice its width.

    2w^2 + 44w = 48

    w^2 + 22w = 24

    w^2 + 22w - 24 = 0

    w = (-11+sqrt (145)) = 1.0416

    The length is about 2w+44 = (46.0832)
