To do this you need to find the prime factors of 96 (2·2·2·2·2·3) now, the numbers that are the same pair up to make one of the numer. So 2·2 = 2 and the other 2·2 = 2 also. Now bring the new 2s to the left of the square root sign and multiply to get 4. now you have 4√2·3 and to finish the equation you just multiply 2 and 3 to get:

    4√6 as your answer.
