    By remainder theorem:

    f (x) = x³ - 2

    factor, x - 1 = 0

    x = 1,

    Remainder = f (1)

    f (x) = x³ - 2

    f (1) = 1³ - 2 = 1 - 2 = - 1.

    Hence remainder is = - 1.
