    2 + 6g = 11 - 3g

    first get like terms together by adding 3g to both sides.

    2 + 6g + 3g = 11 - 3g + 3g

    2 + 9g = 11

    next subtract 2 from both sides

    2 - 2 + 9g = 11 - 2

    9g = 9

    last step is to divide both sides by 9

    (9g) / 9 = 9/9

    g = 1
