    240 / 180 = x / 36 ... 240 lbs to 180 cal/mile = x lbs to 36 cal/mile

    cross multiply

    (180) (x) = (240) (36)

    180x = 8640

    x = 8640 / 180

    x = 48 lbs <==

    I would assume the weight of the person burning 36 calories per mile would weigh 180 pounds.
