What's the answer to - 5 (3-z) = z+1

    -5 (3-z) = z + 1

    Simplify the parenthesis

    -15 + 5z = z + 1

    Add 15 on both sides

    5z = z + 16

    Subtract z on both sides

    4z = 16

    Divide 4 on both sides

    z = 4
