Steps:

1. Find the greatest common factor

24:

1, 2,3,4,6,8,12,24

28:

1,2,4,7,14,28

2. The greatest common factor is 4

3. Now you divide both numbers by 4

24 divided by 4 = 6

28 divided by 4=7

4. Your answer is 6/7

Basically, in order to find the lowest terms, you have to find the greatest common factor and then, divide both numbers by it.

The lowest term is basically the simplest form.

For example, in 24/28 you want to find a number they can both go into. 24 and 28 can both go into 2 so you'll go 24 divided by 2 and 28 divided by 2 whichll give you 12/14 and then you see if you can go even lower and since both those numbers fit into two just divide them again and you'll get 6/7 which will be your answer since there's no number that goes into both of them evenly.

In the beginning you could have just divided each by 4 since 24 and 28 both go into it and you still would have gotten 6/7.
