Lars bought 3 jars of marbles. Each jar has 42 marbles, of which 13 are red. Lars can use the calculation below to find the total number of red marbles. 3 * (13*42)

    3x (1/3x42). First, you would do 1/3 x 42 which equals 14 (I did 1 divided by 3 which equals 0.333 ... then times 42 which equals 14). Then, you do 14x3 = 42
