For the inverse variation equation xy = k, what is the value of x when y = 4 and k = 7?

    Xy = k

    x (4) = (7)

    x = 7 - 4 (because you need to isolate the "x" by moving the "4" to the other side, in order to do that you need to change the sign of the "4" to a negative)

    x = 3
