What is the easiest way to factor?

    Find all the prime numbers that will multiply to thet the origonal number, prime numbers are like 2,3,5,7 and not 4,6,8,9 ask if you need more explanation because that's as simple as it gets

    Depends on what you are factoring.

    To factor a number, write a list of multiplicands (the numbers u multiply to get a product)

    for example: let's factor 120

    1x120, 2x60, 3x40, 4x30, 5x24, 6x20, 8x15, 10x12

    go in order, once you repeat a number, you are done

    To factor a quadratic or other equation, do it in steps

    for example: let's factor x+4x+3

    find the factors of 3, which are 1 and 3

    these should add to the middle coefficient (if there are multiple sets, at least one of them should) and make sure you consider the positive or negative signs, in this case, 1 and 3 do add to four

    then add or subtract * pay attention to the signs * them from x

    (x+3) (x+1)
