    3x^2 + 2x + 7 = 0

    using the quadratis formula

    x = [ - 2 + / - sqrt (2^2 - 4*3*7) ] / 6

    Hint the numbers in parentheses after the square root work out to negative 80)

    The quadratic formula is - b + / - the square root of b squared - 4 (ac) all over 2a.

    -2 + / - the square root of 4 - 4 (3*7) all over 2*3.

    -2 + / - the square root of - 80

    Since the square root of 80 is irrational, the equation has no solution
