A neon atom has 10 protons and 10 electrons. The 10 protons have a charge of + 10 and the 10 electrons have a charge of - 10. No other particles in the atom have a charge. What is the sum of the charges in the neon atom?

    I'm no expert on this, but wouldn't it just be simple addition? 10 + (-10) = 0. Wouldn't it have a neutral charge?
