    X = (-b + / - √ (b²-4ac)) / (2a)

    x = (-3 + / - √ (3²-4*2 * (-2)) / (2*2) = (-3 + / - √ (9+16)) / 4

    x (1) = (-3+5) / 4=2/4=1/2

    x (2) = (-3-5) / 4=-2

    C: one positive and one negative
