Tracy took a quiz containing 12 items. If she got 5/6 of the item correct, how many did she get correct?

    If she got 5 out of 6 wrong, the denominator represents the total, so let's change that into 12.

    If we want to change 6 into 12 and make the fraction equal, we'd have to multiply the numerator by 2 as well.

    5/6 * 2/2 = 10/12

    Meaning out of the 12 questions on the quiz, she'd only got 10 right.
