The answer is 1 because there are 12 ones then times that by zero which is 0 then add 1 to 0

Well no matter what you add, anything multiplied by 0 will always equate to 0. Therefore, the answer is simply 1.
( ...) * 0 = 0
0 + 1 = 1.
