Consider a pyramid with a height 10 feet in a square base with side lengths 7 feet. How does the volume of the pyramid change if the base stays the same and the height is doubled

    The volume of a pyramid is given by the formula

    V = 1/3 x bxh

    b = base, since the base is square, so b = L²=49 feet²

    h=10feet

    so finally V = 1/3x 49x10 = 163.33 ft^3

    if the height is doubled it means H=2h=20

    so the volume is V = 1/3x 49x 20=326.33 ft^3
