You have a box containing 6 white, 4 red, and 8 black marbles. You pick a marble and it is red. You then pick a white marble. On the third attempt, you pick a white marble again. What are the chances that on the fourth try you will pick a black marble? (Hint: You have not replaced the marbles you picked).

    All in all, 1 red marble and 2 white marbles have been removed from the back which leaves us with 4 white marbles, 3 red marble, and 8 black marbles. Therefore, the changes of picking a black marble is:

    8 / (4+3+8) = 0.5333 or 53.33%

    There is a 53.33% chance that a black marble is picked.
