How do you find the g (acceleration due to gravity) in this question?

What is the period and frequency of a 10 pound weight oscilating (as a pendulum) on a 5 meter long rope?

    The weight (or mass) is irrelevant.

    The period t = sqrt (2*pi*sqrt (l/g) where g is the acceleration due to gravity.

    so t = 2*pi*sqrt (5/9.8) = 4.49 seconds.

    Frequency = 1/period = 0.223 Hertz.
