Events a and b are mutually exclusive/disjoint. the probability of event a occurring is 0.37 and the probability of event b occurring is 0.49. what is p (a and b) ?

    For example, throw a coin and get heads and tails at the same time.

    It is impossible for this to happen and therefore, the probability of obtaining this result is zero.

    In the same way that a and b occur at the same time, if both are mutually exclusive, it is impossible.

    Therefore, the probability P (a and b) = 0
