You are calculating payroll. your company has 45 employees who work 40 hours a week and earn $17/hour 14 employees each worked 6 hours of overtime at 50% above their hourly rate. what percentage of the total payroll that week was overtime pay

    Regular pay:

    45x40x17=30,600

    Overtime:

    45x6x17x1.5=2142

    Total payroll = 30,600+2142=32,742

    Total overtime/total payroll * 100 =

    2142/32,742 * 100 = 6.5%
