In mathematics, a ratio is a relationship between two numbers indicating how many times the first number contains the second. For example, if a bowl of fruit contains eight oranges and six lemons, then the ratio of oranges to lemons is eight to six (that is, 8:6, which is equivalent to the ratio 4:3). Thus, a ratio can be a fraction as opposed to a whole number. The ratio for 12:8 is 6:4

Well ... what I do is known as a simple method called cancellation, in it you basically need to know your tables. like - 5:10 this can - equivalent or simplified to further proportions like 1:2 because you multiply 5x1-5 5x2-10 therefore it is 1:2 because those r the factors ... so the answer for your problem is 6:4 lemme explain how

2x4 is equal to 8 so we r multiplying with 4 so the first number is 4

2x6 is equal to 12 so we r multiplying with 6 therefore we can conclude that 6:4 is the correct answer - by figuring out the correct tables

    Hope you understood!
