How to solve for y?

    Have to isolate the variable. divide everything by 3 so the problem would now be y=5x-4

    First you divide both sides by three.

    3y=15x-12

    /3 / 3 / 3

    y=5x-4

    y cannot be solved in this equation, but you should get y by it self.
