    Step 1: Cross-multiply.

    (x+3) ^1/2 = (3x+7) ^1/4

    Step 2: Subtract 6x from both sides.

    4x+12-6x=6x+14-6x

    -2x+12=14

    Step 3: Subtract 12 from both sides.

    -2x+12-12=14-12

    -2x=2

    Step 4: Divide both sides by - 2.

    -2x/-2=2/-2

    Answer:

    x=-1
