If you have a fraction with one of the numbers negative does that make the whole thing negative or positive? And what about both being negative?

    Remember that a fraction is division of two numbers.

    When you divide and one number is negative, the quotient is negative. For example - 3/4 = - 0.75 and 3/-4 = - 0.75.

    If both are negative, the quotient is positive. For example, - 3/-4 = 0.75.

    However, it is important to note that negatives on fractions are traditionally written on the numerator and not the denominator.
