A scuba diver dives down 20 feet into the ocean he then swims 11 feet back up towards the surface what is the position of the scuba diver relative to the surface

    You start at 0 feet then you dive into the ocean 20 feet you now are at - 20 feet then you swim back up 11 feet. So your equation is - 20+11 = - 9 feet
