How can you use a pattern to find the product of 5*12?

    Well we know that 10 times anything is add 1 zero at the end and 5 = 1/2 of 10 so

    10 times 12=x

    x/2=answer=120/2=60

    or you could make a 10 by realizing that the equation is really

    5*2*6

    5*2=10

    so 10*6=60

    You put 5 in 12 circles and after you do that count all of the 5's that are in the 12 circles and that will be your answer
