Gail paid $118.65 for a varsity jacket. The price includes a 5% sales tax. How much was the jacket before the tax?

    The jackets total price was $118.65. I multiplied by. 5 to get $5.93. Then I subtracted 5.93 from 118.65 to get the price of the jacket before the tax which was 112.72
