6 (-5y + 2) - 5y=30
Step 1 → Distribute
6*-5y = - 30y
6*2 = 12
-30y + 12 - 5y = 30
Step 2 → Combine like terms
-30y - 5y = - 35y
-35y + 12 = 20
Step 3 → Inverse operation
20 - 12 = 8
-35y = 8
-35y/-35 = 8/-35
y = - 8/35
