Slant height = (9 2 + 12 2) 1/2 = 15 cm

Slant height for 4 cm height = (4/12) (15) = 5 cm

Area of the interior surface not containing water

= π (9 x 15 - 3 x 5) = 120 π = 377.14 square cm
