The fraction that is equivalent to 1 2/3 is 5/3. You must multiply the whole number 1 by the denominator of the fraction (3) and then add that number in this case 3 to the numerator which in this case is 2. So 3+2=5 that is your new numerator number and your denominator is still 3.
