First you have to make 1 1/4 into minutes so 1/4 of an hour is 15 min and one hour is 60 min so you add them up so 15+60 = 75.
now you make it into a fraction 45/75 then you just simplify it.
they both divide into 5 so 9/15
9 and 15 both divide into 3 so the answer is 3/5
