The answer is that x is equal to 0.17 or - 5/-28. You have to add like terms so 25x+2=53x-3 will turn to - 28x=-5.

Subtract 2 from both sides
25x = 53x - 5
Subtract 53x from 25x
-28x = - 5
Divide
Final Answer: 0.17 OR - 5/-28
