    The best way to find the answer is to take the entire volume with a radius of 8cm and minus the empty space in the middle which is 5cm because 8-3cm thick glass=5cm

    so volume of a sphere is

    V = (4/3) πr^3

    V = ((4/3) π (8^3)) - ((4/3) π (5^3))

    V = (2144.66) - (523.6)

    V=1,621.06cm^3
