Sue sold 60 watermelons in a special 3 day sale. Each day she sold 6 more watermelons then the day before. How many watermelons were sold on the 3rd day?

    X + (x+6) + (x + 12) = 60

    3x + 18 = 60

    3x=42

    x = 14 (# sold the first day)

    so if she sold 12 more than she did on the first day, on the last day the she sold 26
