Proportion word problem ... One jar of crushed ginger costs $2. How many jars can you buy with $4?

    1 jar costs $2 j=jar c=cost 1j/2c

    $2+$2=$4 If 1 jar costs $2, and you are trying to find out how many jars you can buy with $4, find out how many jars it would take to get to $4.

    The answer is 2 jars.
