    Let us assume the breadth of the rectangle to be x

    Then the length will be 2 + 3x

    Now we know that

    Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)

    Substituting the given perimeter 100 in the above equation would give us:

    100 = 2 (2+3x+x)

    100 = 4 + 6x + 2x

    100 = 4 + 8x

    100-4 = 12x

    12x = 96

    x = 96/12

    x = 8 = width

    Length = 2 + 3x = 2 + 3 (8) = 2 + 24 = 26

    Answer: the length of the rectangle is 26 while the width is 8.
