    C)

c is correct because i used the process of elimination. a & b are wrong because they add up 2.50 and 1.50, which you don't want to do because you want to find the separate costs of hamburgers and drinks. d is incorrect because you want to multiply x by 2.50 and y by 1.50. addition is the incorrect operation because multiplying will get you the price for the amount of burgers or drinks and addition does not make that connection. this leaves c to be the correct answer!

have a nice day and good luck with the rest of your homework!
