Suppose 8 out of 20 students are absent from school less than five days a year. Predict how many students would be absent from school less than five days a year out of 40,000 students.

    We can multiply 8/20 (which simplifies to 2/5) by 40000. So, 2/5 times 40000 is 80000/5 which is 16000.
