Sue is thinking of a number

She multiplies the number by 8 and then subtracts 66 the answer is twice the original number

    Let the number be x

    X * 8 = 8x

    8x-66 = twice of the number

    8x-66=2x

    -66=2x-8x

    -66=-6x

    Divide both sides by - 6

    X=11
