p = pig

c + p = 32

32-p=c

2c + 4p = 84

2 (32-p) + 4p = 84

64-2p + 4p = 84

2p = 20

p = 10

32-10 = 22

check: 4 x 10 = 40, 2 x 22 = 44, 40+44=84

there are 10 pigs and 22 chickens
