This is the slope of a horizontal line. the line has no vertical change between each horizontal change.

    Slope of a line is calculated by dividing the change in y by the change in the horizontal component, x. That is most commonly known as "rise over run". Now, considering a horizontal line, there is no "rise" because the rate of change in y is zero. Therefore, the slope is zero.
