    √ (ab) = (√a) (√b)

    and

    square area=side^2

    area=24

    24=side^2

    sqrt both sides

    √24=side

    √ (4*6) = side

    (√4) (√6) = side

    (2) (√6) = side

    2√6=side

    the side is 2√6 ft
