A circular garden is enclosed by a fence that is about 78.5 feet long. To the nearest foot, what is the diameter of the circular garden? Use 3.14 for π.

    Circumference=2pr and since r=d/2

    C=pd we are told that C=78.5 and to approximate pi by 3.14 so

    78.5=3.14 (d)

    d=25ft
