A vertical line divides a region into two pieces. Find the value of the coordinate x that maximizes the product of the two areas.

    Suppose the two pieces to be A and B such that:

    Product Areas=Pa

    =AB

    =[2x][2 (1-x) ]

    =4x-4 x2

    then find the rate of change of area function and set to zero : P a′ = 0
