Ivan and Jeff buy a package of 8 pens for $4.00. Ivan wants 5 pens, and Jeff wants 3 pens. How much should each student pay?

    Divide the pens by their price (8/4). So you have 8 pens at $2 ea. Then just multiply the amount of pens each wants times the $2/pen price. You should get $10 and $6.
