The area of a trapezoid is 36 square inches. the height is 4 inches and one base is twice the length of the other base. what are the lengths of the bases?

    If one base is x the other one is 2x

    so

    S = (B+b) * h/2

    36 = (x+2x) * 4/2

    36=3x*2

    3x=18

    x=6

    so the smaller base is 6 inches

    the other base is 2*6=12inches
