H=x and b=x+10

A=hb/2 so

A=x (x+10) / 2

A = (x^2+10x) / 2 and A=48 so

(x^2+10x) = 96

x^2+10x-96-0

x^2-6x+16x-96=0

x (x-6) + 16 (x-6) = 0

(x+16) (x-6) = 0, since x>0

x=6in, and since the base is x+10

base=16in
