7y/7=56/7
y=8
I am pretty sure you mean by if you can solve the problem

Since - 1 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by adding 1 to both sides.
7y=1+55
Add 1 and 55 to get 56.
7y=56
Divide each term in the equation by 7.
y = 8
