    Jill : 18 miles per day for 5 days = 18 * 5 = 90 miles total

    Sally : she rode half as far = 90/2 = 45 miles total

    Jill rode 45 more miles then Sally

    So first, you are going to find out how many miles sally rides a day. She goes half as far as jill, who goes 18. Half of 18 is 9. Then you are going to multiply jill's miles, 18, by the number of days, 5. Jill goes 95 miles in 5 days. Then, you do the same for sally. 9 times 5 is 45. The next step is to find out how many more miles jill had ridden, than sally. To do this, you simply, take jills number, 95 and subtract sallys number, 45. You will find that the answer to this problem is 50. Here is the problem written out:

    18/2=9

    18x5=95

    9x5=45

    95-45=50

    After 5 days, jill had ridden 50 more miles than sally.
