Write a linear function whose slope is - 4 and y intercept is - 5. Explain what these values mean in the equation.

    In y = mx + b form, the slope is in the m position and the y int is in the b position.

    y = mx + b

    slope (m) = - 4

    y int (b) = - 5

    y = - 4x - 5

    or

    f (x) = - 4x - 5
